Lake Lure is only 1.25 miles from the motel and has a wide range of activities. The Lake Lure beach opens Memorial Day weekend. The Lake Lure visitors center located at the lake is a good source for the summer activities. Do not miss a scenic boat ride or dinner cruise! We can make those reservations for you and discount tickets are available at the office for our guests.

Donald Ross Hiking Trails is only 10 minutes away and provides an enjoyable walk in the woods if you have a hour or two available in your day. Maps and directions can be found in the office.

Dupont State Forest is about 45 minutes away, but offers casual hiking and beautiful views of waterfalls seen in the movie "The Hunger Games". The trails are also perfect for biking if you would like to cover more area.  This area is highly recommended in the fall when the leaves are changing. The Biltmore Estate is about 45 minutes away, just south of downtown Asheville. Go and explore America's Largest Home that George Vanderbilt built in 1895.
